Jim, We cannot thank YOU enough for such a fun evening! Starting with the bus--the camaraderie within all the organizations. Chick-fil-a and Culvers donating food for the ride. The WWII Veterans so ecstatic going to the United Center for the first time ever AND going to a Chicago Bulls game. And there were many others who had never attended a game. The evening w fast because it was so much fun!!

Thank you so much to Mr. Z for what he did for us. Thank you to the three of you for everything you do and did last night.
It was so much fun to have the WW II vets with us. We were so happy they were able to go to their first Bull's game!
We much keep our military in our prayers and thoughts all of the time.

For those of you that didn't make it..You guys missed an awesome time! Thank you Donna and Jim for your hard work and Mr Z. for the amazing time that we had because of your donation and gratitude. Mr Z. the Gentleman in the picture with Donna and her daughter donated tickets and the bus ride to the game in appretiation of Vets. Chick-fil-A donated sandwiches and Culvers donated ice cream and water for the ride...and Rut and his wife brought cheese and crackers and snacks.
ReplyDeleteWe had the priveledge of sitting infront of 4 Gentleman that were Vets one of them was from WWII Era. They were honored by other Vets throughout the game with T-shirts, Beads and many thanks. One of the Gentleman who is 85 yrs young was sharing stories with me of his experiences..He survived the Pacific but lost alot of friends. He said he was in Jacksonville when Pearl Harbor was attacked and him and his buddys were on Liberty when some NCO's came by in a truck and made them get in and took them to the beachfront. They made him get in a tower with a 30 cal. when he opened up the ammo boxes he was shocked to find ammo from WWI that had dry rotted! He asked his Sarg. 'what the hell am I supposed to do with this?!..hit them with it!' the Sarge replied: Deal with it.
We then presented Mr. Z with our Leatherneck MC Club Challenge Coin as a token of appreciation.
Myself, Cpl. Jim, Cav, Taco, Evill, Tankkr, Rut were all present. Dirty Peso was going to come as well but got stuck adminstering an ASVAB test. Sorry we missed ya Bro. Make sure you catch Dirty Peso on the field of the Bears/Packers game he gets to be in the color gaurd before the game! OOO RAH!! Lucky Dog!
